Yusmarg is a small and scenic hamlet, situated at an altitude of 2396 metres towards the southwest of Srinagar. Sprawling green meadows, aromatic pine forests and blossoming spring flowers make it a heavenly destination in the Sang-e-Safed Valley of Kashmir. River Doodh Ganga traverses these meadows, making the entire landscape even more enchanting.

  The tiny hamlet also has Nilnag Lake, which mesmerises visitors with its sparkling waters. Tatakoti (4725 metres) and Sunset Peak (4746 metres) – two lofty mountain pinnacles of the Pir Panjal range – are part of the geographical territory of this place. The beauty of its snow-clad peaks makes Yusmarg comparable to the majestic Alps of Europe. Skiing on the undulating slopes of this place is an activity that attracts sports lovers.
